• A cardmember( the Citibank card holder) may choose to convert a purchase at selected Merchant outlets or may choose to purchase on a website. The purchase would be converted into Easy Monthly installments with interest charged on the monthly reducing balance.
• The amount which is due against Merchant EMI plan shall be debited as a consolidated amount to the Credit Card account of the Citibank Cardholder.
• Citi is authorized to demand immediate repayment of the outstanding amount.
• The EMI is calculated on a monthly reducing balance.
• Reward points can be earned as per features applicable to the Credit Card for the Merchant EMI purchase and the amount is regulated to the EMIs billed each month. In a few cases, where the transaction is billed and further converted into Merchant EMI, reward points will be awarded as per the total transaction amount on the date of the transaction.
• Reward programme for EMI transactions booked at Merchant outlets will be conducted by actual occurrence of EMI debits and not by the date of the transaction.
• Limited or full refunds initiated by Merchant towards the original transaction subsequent to the Merchant EMI booking results in pre-closure of the Merchant EMI facility. Since there is a premature closure of merchant EMI, all outstanding including but not limited to the principal outstanding and the interest to the actual number of days till closure that is, from the last billing date till the date of closure, is debited to the credit card account.
• There are few cases where banks convert the original transactions into Merchant EMI following the original transaction.
• The processing of such EMI request and first EMI billing shall take up to 7 business days.
• Citibank reserves the right to accept or reject EMI request.
• Cashback, if communicated to a customer at the time of the transaction for an EMI transaction, it is offered solely by the merchant and shall be credited to the cardmember only on the reception of the bills from the merchant/brand.
