Apple has successfully created a full package with iPhone 8. There are several improvements made in iPhone 8 to make it superior from its predecessor. With iPhone 8, Apple once again has reached as a front runner in the best camera phone category. The iPhone 8 gives a strong competition to other flagship phones available in the market. The iPhone 8 is priced at Rs. 64,000 for 64 GB internal storage variant and if you wish to opt for 256 GB variant then there is extra 13,000 premium. The other top contenders in this price rage are Samsung Galaxy S8 range and the HTC U11. Both of these are marginally cheaper than the iPhone 8 but the extra price is for better OS. The iPhone 8 is made up of all glass back and front. The glass used here is claimed to be the best ever on a smartphone. To test this claim we dropped the phone one or two times. The phone managed to do well against the drop by escaping unhurt. But we still advice you to use a good cover with this phone because the grip is not extraordinary and the phone is likely to slip sometimes. The iPhone 8 is on the heavier side with its148 grams as compared to the previous non-plus iPhones. The additional weight is not something you will notice until you have used iPhone 7 and is of no major issue. The phone is available in three colour variants - Gold, Silver, and Space Grey. The colour, Space Grey, has a back coloured front and other two colours have a white coloured front. In addition to the phone, you also get a 5W charger, Lightning EarPods, Lightning to 3.5mm adapter, some instructions and USB Type-A to Lightning cable. There is no Type-C to Lightening cable available with the phone to connect the phone to the Apple laptops, so this is something you have to buy on your own.

Using the High Efficiency option can decrease the amount of space your photos and videos take up to 50% (as claimed by Apple). And you can shoot up to 4k video at 60fp in High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) format. If you select High Efficiency format then the pictures will be saved in High Efficiency Image File Format (HEIF) not in JPGs. But it won’t be an issue to upload your pictures in social media as most of the applications like Facebook automatically convert the picture in JPGs format. Still if you want your pictures to be saved in JPGs format then you can select Most Compatible format in camera option in settings. But this format will not give you the extra space that the High Efficiency one gave you. The pictures in daylight are great with most accurate colour reproduction and details. The pictures in low light conditions have also improved immensely compare to iPhone 7. Sometimes noise is visible when you zoom but the overall the low light performance is great. But the low light performance of iPhone 8 still lacks a little as compared to the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and HTC U11 flagship phones. Overall the camera quality of iPhone 8 is amazing and in head to head competition with both the cameras of Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and HTC.

The battery life of iPhone 8 is similar to the previous iPhones. The phone manages to survive for a day if the usage is kept to average. But if you will do heavy use then you will need to recharge during the day. We played HD videos in loop without a stop and the battery life managed to nearly go up to 8.5 hours. The 5W wired charger can charge up to 16 % of batter in about 24 minutes. It is a disappointment that iPhone does not comes with more powerful charger even at this price range. If you want much more quick charging option then you have to buy a powerful adapter.

The glass back of iPhone 8 enables the option of wireless charging. The wireless charger does not come with the phone packaging. But there are many Qi-compatible chargers available that you can use with iPhone 8.

The iPhone 8 model has brand new OS- A11 Bionic chip. The iPhones always proved to be way superior compared its competitors in terms of raw performance and this year is no different. This option helps to restore some data from an iOS device when phone is kept next to it. This helps to skip many steps like making your Apple ID etc. Some basic steps like setting up an email account and entering passwords still needed to done, even after using Quick set up. The RAM of the phone is predicted to be of 2GB and in terms of internal storage there are two variants available i.e. 64GB and 256GB.

The iPhone 8 has stereo speakers that have deeper bass than the previous models. The stereo speakers are also louder than the previous models. The sound comes without any noise or disturbance, even on the higher voice levels. The iPhone 8 is also said to be water and dust resistant i.e. it can withstand to be submerged into the water up to 1 meter till 30 minutes.
