The smartphone market is so saturated now that companies have to pull off tricks and treats in innovative ways to boost buyers’ interest in their products. For brands which is yet to make its mark in the top echelons of smartphone industry, it becomes harder and competitive to stay ahead. LG right now is trying to do something similar with its new phone release in the upcoming IFA 2018 in Berlin, Germany on August 31.

Perhaps one of the most unexpected things is going to happen this August and LG will be running the show. You get ‘flagship level intelligent features at an exceptional price point’ from LG’s new phone: G7 One.

The phone will run on Android One OS, which is a Google program for budget phones but not in this case, or so it seems. G7 One has got flagship specs in a budget price. For starters, you have an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, which is one of the top-class chipsets and preferred choice for mid-range to high-end phones. If that’s not enough, you get a 6.1-inch QHD+ Full View display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and a powerful 3,000 mAh battery. You also get a notched display design which is all the rage these days. LG promises G7 One to be ‘one of the most versatile Android One smartphones in the market today’. Surely, the vanilla experience of Android One is never too much. Android One is a very stable, highly optimized and intelligent OS. Also, the phone is not loaded with the host of pre-installed apps that eat up your space. There is the famous Google Lens too, an extremely helpful application that uses computer vision and AI to search information through images. You also get regular security patch updates for three years and promised two years of software upgrades without worries.

But it isn’t all shining star. The upcoming G7 One has adopted some cost cutting measures, too, to compensate for its specs. The bleeding edge dual camera technology that LG has always vouched for, is not bestowed in this phone. There is also not too much internal memory space, you get a 32GB memory with 4GB of RAM, which is not totally unsuitable for many of us. The 3.5mm headphone jack is not compromised in the LG G7 One.

The hardware specs are surely worth appreciating for and we cannot wait to know the price. But we have to wait till August when LG releases the G7 One.
