Portability is one thing that we look for when we are out to purchase a computing machine. Yes, laptops are meant to be portable and lightweight but very often we have to spend a lot on such machines that meet our requirements. No need to worry about what to choose, as Asus is here with two of its lightweight laptops that will not pick a hole in your pocket. The Taiwan-based tech giant has launched two new VivoBook laptops aimed towards portability.

Both the lightweight laptops feature Windows 10 operating system and will come in five stunning colour options including Firmament Green, Silver Blue, Star Grey, Gun Metal and Icicle Gold. The larger VivoBook S15 (S530) starts at a price of Rs 69,990 and will be sold via Asus exclusive stores starting November 15. On the other hand, the smaller VivoBook S14 (S430) will start at a prices of Rs 54,990 and will go on sale from November 1 as a Flipkart exclusive product. The S15 and S14 laptops are the first VivoBook laptops to sport a NanoEdge design on three sides with narrow bezels on the top and sides of the screen. Thus, giving a screen-to-body ratio of 84 percent to the S14 and 86 percent to the S15, which offers a beautiful viewing experience to the display. The ‘NanoEdge’ display panel provides life-like picture experience with its wide-view technology and new-in-class colour reproduction feature.

Talking about specs, the VivoBook S14 features a 14-inch display and weighs in at 1.4kg while the VivoBook S15 sports a bigger 15.6-inch display, weighing in at 1.8kg. Both the laptops have just 18mm of side profile thickness. A full-size backlit keyboard is present on both S15 and S14 offering 1.4mm key travel. Both the VivoBook laptops sport an ErgoLift hinges to help lift the keyboard to 3.5-degrees making it easier to access just like a desktop keyboard. This new lift hinge will also allow space for better ventilation of warm air from the laptop. That’s not all, the laptops are also secured with optical fingerprint sensor built into the glass touchpad that is Windows Hello-certified.

Both the Asus VivoBook S14 and VivoBook S15 come in three variants, separately, with 8th generation Intel Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 processors. The Core i7-powered VivoBook S14 and S15 also feature 2GB NVIDIA GeForce MX150 graphics adapter. The laptops do feature Asus SonicMaster stereo audio system with surround sound and smart amplifier for maximum audio performance. Connectivity options remain the same on both VivoBook S14 and VivoBook S15 with Dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.2, USB Type-C v3.1, USB Type-A v3.1, two USB 2.0, HDMI, Combo audio jack, and microSD card ports. Both the new VivoBook laptops support fast charging to 60 percent charge in just 49 minutes. While the lightweight VivoBook S14 can offer up to 16GB of RAM and up to 256GB SSD paired with 1TB of HDD, the VivoBook S15 will let you store more with up to 512GB SSD along with 2TB HDD and same amount of RAM as the former.
