Coolpad Cool Play 7 Surfaces Online Ahead of Launch: Price, Specifications and more

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Coolpad is planning to launch its Cool Play 7 on July 30 in China. Coolpad Cool Play 7 is a successor to the Cool Play 6 launched last year. The smartphone has been listed on a Chinese website, JD.com, and is up for early registrations at a starting price of CNY 999 (Rs 10,040). The design of the Coolpad Cool Play 7 offers a thin-bezel, notched display with a noticeable bottom chin and dual rear cameras.

Coolpad Cool Play 7 Specifications

Coolpad Cool Play 7 flaunts a 5.85-inch HD+ TFT display with a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9. Based on an unspecified version of Android, the Cool Play 7 runs on an octa-core MediaTek MT6750 SoC unlike its predecessor Cool Play 6 that ran on Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 chipset. In terms of memory, the Coolpad Cool Play 7 holds 4GB of RAM coupled with 64GB in-built storage under the hood. The storage can be expanded by using a microSD card, though there is no exact expandable capacity mentioned.

The camera department is handled by dual 13MP sensors with LED flash, and portrait mode support. The rear cameras are capable of recording slow motion videos according to the specifications listed on the website. Over at the front, there is an 8MP sensor which supports AI-based beauty filters and AI face unlock.

Connectivity options on the Coolpad Cool Play 7 include the usual set of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 4G LTE, microUSB charging port and 3.5mm headphone jack. The device is juiced up by a 2800mAh out-of-class battery that will only be providing a decent power backup to the smartphone. The fingerprint sensor sits on the rear of the Coolpad Cool Play 7 and is touted to unlock the screen in just 0.2 seconds. In terms of dimensions, the device measures in at 151×73.4×8.8mm.

As per the Chinese retail website JD.com, Coolpad Cool Play 7 will be priced at CNY 999 (for 4GB RAM + 64GB storage), which roughly translates to Rs 10,040 in India. The smartphone is set for launch in China on July 30 and the exact prices will be revealed after the event.
