HMD Global-owned Nokia has just announced a new launch event to be held in Dubai on December 5. The smartphone manufacturer has already launch a bunch of smartphones in 2018, and there’s no stopping till the end of the year. The #ExpectMore event will see the launch of three new smartphones, as hinted by HMD Global’s Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas. But the officials have refrained from revealing the names of the handsets that will be unveiled at the launch. Nonetheless, many rumours have it that they might be planning to launch the much anticipated the penta-camera equipped Nokia 9 alongside the Nokia 8.1 and the budget-friendly Nokia 2.1 Plus.

Sarvikas posted a teaser image on his Twitter account where he mentioned that an #ExpectMore event is coming up and has been scheduled for December 5 in Dubai. Moreover, the teaser image reveals that two of the smartphones will sport notched displays. Speculations rife that the global variant of the Nokia X7, launched in China, will be launched as either Nokia 8.1 or as Nokia 7.1 Plus, both might sport notches.

Other than that, the other smartphone that is expected to make a debut globally is the pocket-friendly Nokia 2.1 Plus that features a display notch, too. The last and the most anticipated one of the three smartphones, that has been hinted in the teaser image, is expected to be the Nokia 9 which flaunts no notch display, whatsoever. The latter will come with a Penta-camera setup at the rear, as per the leaks and renders.

Reports also suggest that the flagship Nokia 9 will flaunt a 6.01-inch FHD+ display, without a notch, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset along with Adreno 630 GPU, alongside 8GB RAM with 256GB of onboard storage. A 4,150mAh battery could fuel the dual-SIM device to last more than a day on single charge, and the battery could support Quick Charge 3.0 or 4+ for fast charging. In terms of software, Nokia 9 will come with Android 9.0 Pie out of the box.

The flagship Nokia 9 renders were leaked many a times where we saw the much controversial Penta-camera setup at the rear of the device. It was expected to be unveiled at many launch events but hadn’t yet seen the light of the day. Though we expect the Nokia 9 to be finally unveiled at the #ExpectMore event on December 5 in Dubai, many reports do claim that it will rise out of the dark at the next Mobile World Congress (MWC) in early 2019. Also, we expect that if the Nokia 9 was to launch at the December event, there would have been certain detail leaks as yet but there have been none.
