Lenovo K9 & Lenovo A5: The Most Affordable Smartphone with Four Cameras

Lenovo has ever been very slow when it comes to smartphone launches, and yet again it has brought two smartphones to the Indian market but to add to the budget segment only. If Lenovo thinks of competing with the likes of Xiaomi, it should definitely buck up to propel its smartphones into the market. That being said, Lenovo has launched two new smartphones in India, namely Lenovo K9 and Lenovo A5. Both the smartphones are budget friendly and flaunt standard no-notch displays and fingerprint sensor at the rear. Lenovo K9 is a considered the premium out of the two, as it features dual cameras both at the rear and at the front, thereby concluding up to total four cameras, with LED flash support at both ends. On the other hand, Lenovo A5 comes with a big 4,000mAh battery, which is its key highlight. Both Lenovo K9 and Lenovo A5 runs on different MediaTek processors, and comes in two different colour options.

As per the specifications, the Lenovo K9 flaunts a 5.7-inch HD+ IPS display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels. The display comes with 2.5D glass protection. Powered by an octa-core MediaTek P22 chipset clocked at 2GHz, the Lenovo K9 packs in 3GB of RAM alongside 32GB of internal storage, with an option to expand the capacity via a microSD card of up to 256GB, using the hybrid slot. The dual rear camera department is handled by a 13MP sensor alongside another 5MP sensor and an LED flash. Over at the front, sits dual cameras with 13MP sensor paired with a 5MP sensor and front LED flash, supporting beauty filters, portrait and HDR modes. The Lenovo K9 packs a 3,000mAh battery under the hood, that supports fast charging via the USB Type-C port, through the means of a 10W travel adapter.

On the other hand, the Lenovo A5 sports a similar 5.45-inch HD+ IPS display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 720 x 1440 pixels resolution. The smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6739 processor, and packs in 2GB or 3GB of RAM coupled with 16GB or 32GB of onboard storage, with expandability support via a microSD card of up to 256GB. Lenovo A5 features a single 13MP rear sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a single 8MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture. The front camera also uses Face Unlock feature to secure the smartphone. As already mentioned, the Lenovo A5 packs a bigger 4,000mAh battery, which should last a whole day on a single charge. The battery in the Lenovo A5 also supports 10W quick charge via the microUSB 2.0 port and the 10W travel adapter.

Both the smartphones run on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box, with Lenovo’s custom skin ZUI 3.9 on the top.

Wrapping up, the Lenovo K9 has been priced at Rs 8,999 for the only 3GB RAM variant and will be available in Black and Blue colour options to choose from. And the Lenovo A5 has been priced at Rs 5,999 for the 2GB RAM variant and Rs 6,999 for the 3GB RAM variant, and is available in Black and Gold colour options. The smartphones will go on sale soon, so users can click the ‘Notify Me’ button on the Flipkart website, as both Lenovo K9 and Lenovo A5 are Flipkart exclusive smartphones in India.
