Two Months ago, Motorola unveiled its E series smartphones, consisting of Moto E5, Moto E5 Plus and Moto E5 play. However, the Moto E5 Play was exclusive for US markets but now Motorola has unveiled a new version of E5 Play which runs on Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition) for Latin America and European regions, while the original device uses Android Oreo full version. Rumours also suggest the hardware specifications will also differ from the original E5 Play.

Moto E5 Play (Go Edition) Operating System:
Moto E5 Play runs on Android 8.1 Oreo Go edition, a lighter version of Android. The OS is optimised to run on devices with 512 MB to 1GB of RAM, which will use nearly half the space of Android Nougat. This will also provide extra storage for low-end storage devices that come with 8 GB or 16 GB of storage. The devices running on Android Go will be 15% faster than usual, as Google has released lighter “Go” versions of various apps like – Google Go, Google Assistant Go, YouTube Go, Gmail Go etc.

Moto E5 Play (Go Edition) Memory Arrangements:
Original version of Moto E5 Play sports 2GB of RAM, while the Android Go Edition will support 1GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt memory with an option to expand it to 128GB via microSD card.

Moto E5 Play (Go Edition) will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 425/427 mid-range chipset. Both the processors are based on Cortex A53 architecture using quad-cores.

Moto E5 Play comes with an 8MP camera sensor at the back and a 5MP sensor at the front. The rear camera will get an aperture of f/2.0 and a LED flashlight support.

Moto E5 Play (Go Edition) Price and Availability in India
As per the rumours, the device could be priced at EUR 109 ( roughly Rs 8,700). Motorola hasn’t revealed any information about the availability of the device in Asian markets.
