While Oppo is planning to launch F9 and F9 Pro soon, it will only be the latter which would be making its debut in India. Now, a new teaser has revealed Oppo F9 Pro’s design and a prominent feature – VOOC flash charging technology. Oppo claims that the VOOC flash charge will provide the F9 Pro with two hours of talk time on a single charge of just five minutes. The Oppo F9 was recently teased in Malaysia.
The new feature on board the F9 Pro was teased on the Chinese conglomerate’s India website and social account. Apart from the fast charging technology, also revealed were the front and rear panels of the F9 Pro. A series of teasers has earlier hinted at a display notch almost similar to the Essential Phone but a smart one than the latter. The complete display of the F9 Pro has now been revealed. It has a thin bezel that sits at the bottom of the display which means that navigation buttons will be placed on-screen. In terms of colour variants, a red coloured F9 Pro is already expected as per the teaser. It also looks like the rear panel may house a dual camera setup stacked in horizontal manner.
VOOC flash charge technology is similar to OnePlus’ Dash Charge but is faster. The technology was launched at MWC a couple of years ago, which provides a charge of 75% from 0% in a single charge of just half an hour. A month back, Oppo introduced the VOOC flash charge technology on its flagship smartphone Oppo Find X Automobili Lamborghini Edition that was launched in June. Oppo F9 Pro packs a 3,400mAh battery which is touted to be fully charged with VOOC flash charge in just 35-minutes.
The Oppo F9 Pro is expected to be powered by a MediaTek Helio P60 SoC while the other specifications are not yet revealed. The launch date and price of Oppo F9 Pro is yet to be known as the smartphone still bears a ‘coming soon’ tag. We expect the device to be launched within this month to compete against the likes of Xiaomi Mi A2 to be launched on August 8.
