The New-Age Truecaller

1012

Last week Truecaller took a major step in becoming an app which is just more than being a Caller ID. Truecaller introduced video calling within their app by having a tie up with Google and has used the Google Duo for same. This feature was introduced back in March and now with the update(v7.70) for IOS users will be able to have the inbuilt Video calling in Truecaller. Users, however, will have to install the Duo app on their device.

After updating the Truecaller app, the users will be able to notice the new feature of Google Duo video call in the contacts section of the app. The app already had the feature of Messaging and Voice calling and with the option of Video calling as well. Truecaller will be looking to become an alternative for apps like WhatsApp and Hike.

This collaboration is a landmark for Google to reach the user base of Truecaller which is 250 million strong and allows the Google Duo to carve a big area for itself in the market. Although, this app is only available for the IOS users hitherto and users should wait before checking out how this integration performs on Android. Google Duo was integrated earlier this month in the Android call log and the feature of flash messaging which allows the user to send and receive flash updates that include emoticons, clickable links, and phone numbers were introduced before that.
