The news came from the horse’s mouth so this is no speculation or prediction. HTC announced about the new U phone yesterday on its Twitter account. The new phone will be its latest entry in its U series phones and it will bring together “beauty and power”.
HTC have had a bumpy ride with its chain of releases in 2018. The flagship U12+, released in June 2016 had a messy digital button. The power and volume keys were faulty. HTC was quick enough to fix that as quickly as possible. Otherwise, The U12+ rocked in its design and speedy performance. Before that came the Desire 12 and 12+ with 18:9 screens and glass designs. The Desire series were budget phones, something HTC seldom does, and were best looking ones in budget segment from HTC till date.
HTC has kept its mouth shut about the upcoming U series phone, but experts predict it will be called HTC U12 Life. This is a cue from the release of U11 Life in November last year after U11. There is also the famous ‘blockchain phone’ that HTC has proudly talked about being the first of its kind and will supposedly be launched in October 2018.
We do not know anything yet about what surprises will the new U phone bring. But the wait won’t be for too long.
