Chinese smartphone manufacturers like Vivo and Oppo are going the same way to gain the market share in India, and dethrone the well established players like Xiaomi, Samsung and even Honor. They have been launching many smartphones in the Indian market in a few months, and now Vivo is, too, targeting the budget segment with their new smartphone named the Vivo Y95 which is set to launch on November 25 in India.

Vivo Y95 will be the first Qualcomm Snapdragon 439-equipped smartphone to be launched in India and it will be priced around Rs 20,000. The Y95 flaunts a waterdrop-style notch at the display, along with a dual camera setup and fingerprint sensor at the rear of the device. Vivo Y95 features a 6.22-inch HD+ IPS Halo FullView display with a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels and a 2.5D curved glass protection. The Snapdragon 439 octa-core chipset has been clocked at 1.9GHz and is paired with Adreno 505 GPU, alongside 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage, further expandable via a microSD card.

In terms of optics, Vivo Y95 carries a 13MP sensor coupled with a 2MP sensor in a vertically stacked camera setup at the rear. The front camera is a 20MP sensor with AI face beauty and support for Google Lens. The smartphone is fueled by a 4,030 mAh battery, while the connectivity options include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Dual 4G LTE, and LTE support. Vivo Y95 runs on Funtouch OS 4.5 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. The smartphone will be launched in two colour options, namely Starry Black and Nebula Purple.

Wrapping up, Vivo Y95 will be launched on November 25 as has been listed on the company’s Indian website. To recall, the smartphone debuted in the Philippines last week at a price of PHP 13,999 that roughly translates to Rs 19,100. As for the pricing, Flipkart recently revealed the price of the Vivo Y95 and mentioned that it will launch at Rs 16,990 which seems official. It would be interesting to see how Vivo fares with this smartphone against other competitors like Xiaomi, Realme, and Samsung which are already going along a fine line.
