Xiaomi’s Huami to Introduce two Amazfit Smartwatches in India on July 24

Xiaomi’s subsidiary brand Huami is all set to launch two Amazfit smartwatches in India on July 24. Amazfit has confirmed the arrival of its popular smartwatches, the Bip and the Stratos, to India through its Twitter handle. A two-post series teased the spotlight images of the two smartwatches with the hashtag #DoItRight.

Amazfit teased the Bip smartwatch with, “Some wait for change, others just #DoItRight. What are you doing this 24th July” while the Amazfit Stratos carried, “When power, performance and innovation unite, a revolution takes place. Watch it unveil in India on 24th July.

Amazfit Bip Smartwatch Specifications

The Bip smartwatch sports a 1.28-inch rectangular display with a resolution of 176 x 176 pixels. Protected by 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 3, the screen is an always-on touch display showing time, date, steps taken etc. Connected via Bluetooth 4.0 LE, the Amazfit Bip supports Android and iOS platforms for connections. The smartwatch is IP68-rated with water and dust resistance, weighing at just 31 grams. It is backed by a 190mAh Li-Polymer battery providing a backup of 30 days to the smartwatch. Amazfit Bip is capable of tracking steps taken, cycling, runs, sleep and offers a bundle of sensors like optical heart rate sensor, GPS, geomagnetic, barometric pressure and tri-axial acceleration sensors among others.

Amazfit Stratos Smartwatch Specifications

Amazfit Stratos comes with a 1.34-inch traditional round dial display with 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla glass protection and a resolution of 320 x 300 pixels. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, offering 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of on-board storage for storing music files. One can pair a wireless headset with the device to listen to his favourite music on-the-go without the need of carrying a phone. Amazfit Stratos offers connectivity options like Bluetooth 4.0 LE and Wi-Fi to notify about emails, texts, calls, and other apps on the smartwatch screen itself. The device offers the same set of sensors as on the Amazfit Bip smartwatch along with gyroscope, ambient light and air pressure sensors. Built with polished ceramic bezel, the Amazfit Stratos is backed by a 290mAh battery giving it a backup of 5 days. Capable of tracking steps, sleep, distance travelled, calories burned, heart rate, and sports tracking, it also reminds the user for optional movements if they have been idle for a long time. The Stratos watch is 5 ATM-rated offering it water resistance of upto 50 meters.

Amazfit Bip and Amazfit Stratos Price

The Amazfit Bip is sold globally for $99, which translates roughly to Rs 6800 while the Amazfit Stratos is priced at $199 or roughly Rs 13,600. Both the smartwatches are already available in the global markets for sale but the Indian market is yet to witness them. It is expected that the smartwatches will be available at a competitive price in India to its counter-parts.
