In India it is more often said that Cricket is not a game but a religion as it is worshipped like one. Be it a world cup or T-20 and the very recent and eye-catching Indian Premier League, Cricket has always been the talk of the town in India. You would remember the time when during World Cups people used to come out on the streets on the win of Indian Cricket team and also the ones where people used to blast their TV screens when Indian players came home without the Cup. It has always been on the extremes. Our Cricket players are put on the pedestals whenever they perform good or are termed with derogatory terms when they let down the public. However, Cricket is one game that binds everyone together and bring back the kid in them. It is no less than a festival for Indians. And having said that, players are also being idolised and being look upto in whatever they do. They have become celebrities and are constantly under the radar of the Indian media. Though it has its own positives and negatives.
Yet again IPL is around the corner to spread smiles and bring back the sports spirit in the audience. It would be continued for 2 months from April to May, 2018. The excitement is already in the air with much of the expectations from the teams and their respective players. IPL is the great T20 competition which happens among the players of different countries. The owner of the teams bid on different players to have them in their teams as per the track records of the players. The IPL auction for the 11th edition was held in Bengaluru at the Lalit Hotel on 27th and 28th January, 2018. There are around eight teams competing in the IPL in 2018. These teams are Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kings XI Punjab, Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Daredevils, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chennai Super Kings, and Rajasthan Royals. Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals have come back from a 2 years break due to their suspension from the IPL and it will be great to see them back competing. And for the record, Chennai Super Kings have won the IPL twice before and Rajasthan Royals have won the inaugural tournament back in 2008.
???? Announcement ????: The #VIVOIPL schedule for the first two weeks is out. The first match of the 2019 season will be played between @ChennaiIPL and @RCBTweets

IPL has become the biggest boon for the young talent who have a keen interest in cricket. But for some reason or the other could not become a part of Indian Cricket team. It is very important for the society to nourish its talent at the right time and the right place. Especially the youth of India needs to be given a proper and correct direction for the welfare of the society. Indian Premier League has done that for the youth by giving them a lot of opportunities to showcase their talent. It has provided them with the International stage and the golden chance to play under the flagship of known banners. These young talents can play with the best Indian and International Cricket players and improve their skills. Now, they have the opportunity to present themselves to a wide audience of 1.3 billion people.
Indian Premier League above all has become the money whopping factory and is portrayed in a bad light as well. There have been many cases floating around the corner about the scams in the IPL. Many players were alleged to have been involved in the fraudulent activities and few of them were even suspended for behaving improperly on the field with other team players. However, the team spirit has not faded from the field and after much consultation and improvisation, the game continues in the same old way.
Rajasthan Royals is making a come back on the IPL ground after being banned for 2 years owing to the charges of being involved in match-fixing. However, this time around Rajasthan Royals has teamed up with stronger players to leave a mark on other teams. Their key players involve -
Steve Smith, Benjamin Stokes, Jaydev Unadkat, Sanju Samson, Jofra Archer, Krishnappa Gowtham, Jos Buttler, Ajinkya Rahane, Darcy Short, Rahul Tripathi, Dhawal Kulkarni, Zahir Khan Pakteen, Ben Laughlin, Stuart Binny, Dushmantha Chameera, Anureet Singh, Aryaman Vikram Birla, Midhun S, Shreyas Gopal, Prashant Chopra, Jatin Saxena, Ankit Sharma, Mahipal Lomror.
Chennai Super Kings
Chennai Super Kings has the same story just like Rajasthan Royals and they too were banned for 2 years and were not allowed to play because of the crime called match-fixing. Chennai Super Kings is regarded as one of the best and most successful teams in the IPL history as they have won two matches in the past. And of course, the love for M.S. Dhoni has given much attention to the team. The key players of the team are -
Kedar Jadhav, Karn Sharma, Shardul Thakur, Ambati Rayudu, Harbhajan Singh, Murali Vijay, Deepak Chahar, Asif KM, Jagadeesan Narayan, Kanishk Seth, Dhruv Shorey, Kshitiz Sharma, Monu Singh, Chaitanya Bishnoi. Dwayne Bravo, Shane Watson, Faf du Plessis, Mark Wood, Sam Billings, Imran Tahir, Mitchell Santner, Lungisani Ngidi, MS Dhoni Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja.
Delhi Daredevils
Delhi Daredevils was not performing well in the prior seasons but this around when they have shuffled their team players, the hopes are high that they too will show some improvement in the upcoming season. Their Key Players involves -
Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, Chris Morris, Glenn Maxwell, Kagiso Rabada, Amit Mishra, Shahbaz Nadeem, Vijay Shankar, Rahul Tewatia, Mohammad Shami, Gautam Gambhir, Trent Boult, Colin Munro, Daniel Christian, Jason Roy, Naman Ojha, Prithvi Shaw, Gurkeerat Singh Mann, Avesh Khan, Abhishek Sharma, Jayant Yadav, Harshal Patel, Manjot Kalra, Sandeep Lamichhane, Sayan Ghosh
Kolkata Knight Riders
This team was on the radar of the Indian media due to their owner - The King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan. The team was not doing good in the past seasons but did have some amazing players batting for them. This time KKR managed to add these below-mentioned players in the team -
Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Chris Lynn, Mitchell Starc, Dinesh Karthik, Robin Uthappa, Kuldeep Singh Yadav, Piyush Chawla, Nitish Rana, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Shivam Mavi, Mitchell Johnson, Shubman Gill, Ranganath Vinay Kumar, Rinku Singh, Cameron Delport, Javon Searless, Apoorv Vijay Wankhade, Ishank Jaggi.
Everyone would agree with the fact that this team, which is owned by Preity Zinta is pretty much underrated although they have delivered few good matches in the field. Apart from Yuvraj Singh, these are the players that would be seen playing for Kings XI Punjab -
Axar Patel, KL Rahul, Ravichandran Ashwin, Andrew Tye, Aaron Finch, Marcus Stoinis, Karun Nair, Mujeeb Zadran, Ankit Singh Rajpoot, David Miller, Mohit Sharma, Barinder Singh Sran, Yuvraj Singh, Christopher Gayle, Ben Dwarshuis, Akshdeep Nath, Manoj Tiwary, Mayank Agarwal, Manzoor Dar, Pardeep Sahu, Mayank Dagar.
This team is said to be the most consistent team in all the IPL seasons. They are the hub of all the great batsman playing their best shot. However, even after picking the best players their luck has not worked in their favour during the last seasons. In the 11th edition, they have the following team players in their kitty. Not to mention, all the eyeballs would be searching for Virat Kohli all over the field.
Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Sarfaraz Khan, Chris Woakes, Yuzvendra Singh Chahal, Umesh Yadav, Brendon McCullum, Washington Sundar, Navdeep Saini, Quinton De Kock, Mohammed Siraj, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Colin De Grandhomme, M. Ashwin, Parthiv Patel, Moeen Ali, Mandeep Singh, Manan Vohra, Pawan Negi, Tim Southee, Kulwant Khejroliya, Aniket Choudhary, Pavan Deshpande, Anirudha Ashok Joshi
Been the most consistent and the top contenders of the IPL seasons, they have always made the audience sitting on the edge of their seats, biting nails. Sunrisers Hyderabad has always showcased the best of their talent on the field and has kept a great record. Their team members involve -
David Warner, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Manish Pandey, Rashid Khan Arman, Shikhar Dhawan, Wriddhiman Saha, Siddarth Kaul, Deepak Hooda, Syed Khaleel Ahmed, Sandeep Sharma, Kane Williamson, Carlos Brathwaite, Shakib Al Hasan, Yusuf Pathan, Shreevats Goswami, Mohammad Nabi, Chris Jordan, Basil Thampi, T Natarajan, Sachin Baby, Bipul Sharma, Syed Mehdi Hasan, Ricky Bhui, Tanmay
