With the quality of air reaching an all-time low, bursting crackers is one thing that we should put a limit to. Crackers not just pollute the air but also cause noise pollution that often damages one’s listening capability. So let this festival be all about light and not sound and pollution. Light diyas and candles for a brighter and better Diwali.

Safe Distance

If you plan to burst a few crackers make sure that they are lit from a safe distance. Use an incense stick to light them and step aside when they are burning. Do not go to check an unburnt cracker, it may result in an accident.

Prevention is Better Than Cure

Several preventive measures are to be kept in mind during Diwali. Keep the doors and windows closed. Don’t burst crackers indoors, in compact areas or near trees and electric transformers. Instead choose an open area and keep toddlers away from the firework. Make sure kids light crackers with adult supervision.

Diwali is a festival of lights and though this light represents hope and happiness, it can also take a form of fire. So, it is advised to wear cotton clothes especially when you are near diyas and crackers. If possible stay fully clothed for minimal damage even if there is an accident.
