Places to Visit in India This Long Weekend


A long weekend is always a welcome. As soon as the list of holidays for the new year is declared, our planning and preparations for the long weekend begin. While some plan innumerable activities for these weekends, there are a lot who plan to go on a short trip. After all, traveling and exploring new places is the best way to spend your vacations. Now that the first long weekend of the year is almost here, here is a list of short trips that can add fun to your vacation. All these tours will not take more than 4 days and that is good enough to send you back to work all fresh and relaxed.

The Golden Triangle: Delhi Agra and Jaipur

 

Day 01 : Delhi – Agra

Book your tickets to Agra via Delhi. This trip won’t take more than 5 hours by road. If you plan to fly, you will reach your destination in an hour. Even a train journey is a good option to travel to Agra. In Agra you can go and visit the mesmerizing Taj Mahal and the Agra Fort.

Day 02 : Agra –Jaipur

Early in the morning leave for Jaipur via Fatehpur. You can take a break at Fatehpur and take a tour of the beautiful Fatehpur Sikri.  Reach Jaipur at late night and check in your hotel.

Day 03 : Jaipur

Spend this day in Sightseeing and some shopping in Jaipur. There is a lot to see in the Pink City of the country.

Day 4: Get back to Delhi and go on a sightseeing tour of the National Capital. Here you can even shop till your heart’s content and get a chance to taste some of the most delicious North Indian cuisines. In the evening board the flight back home.

Tirupati Tour: Chennai and Tirupati


Day 01 : Chennai

Take a flight to Chennai and explore the beaches of this beautiful city.  You can also participate in some water sports in Chennai.

Day 02 : Chennai – Tirupati

Take a tour to Tirupati early in the morning from Chennai. Here you can visit Sri Venkateshwara Temple.

Day 03 : Tirupati

After breakfast take a tour of the other famount temples like the Lord Shiva temple, Sri Kapileshwaraswami, Goddess Laxmi temple, Tiruchanur, and the lord Hanuman temple. Later you can visit Swami Pushkarini lake which lies within the holy premises of Venketeswara.

Day 04 : Tirupati – Chennai

Get back to Chennai the next day and relax before you take a flight back home.

Kovalam Beach tour: Trivandrum and Kovalam


 Day 01 : Trivandrum

Take a flight to Trivandrum where you can visit the 18th century’s Vizhinjam Rock Cut Cave and Kuthiramalika Palace.

Day 02 : Trivandrum – Kovalam

The next day leave for Kovalam . At noon, you can visit Koyikkal Palace.

Day 03 : Kovalam

Visit Hawa beach, Lighthouse beach and Samudra beach. Experience the revitalizing Ayurvedic spa treatment in Kovalam.

Day 04 : Kovalam – Trivandrum

Departure from Kovalam to Trivandrum, early in the morning. Here you can visit the zoological park, and then depart for your home.

Southern Circuit Tour: Chennai and Mahabalipuram

Day 01 : Chennai

Reach Chennai and enjoy its stunning beaches and water sports activities on the first day.

Day 02 : Chennai-Mahabalipuram

On the second day take a tour of the Thirumalai Thirupathi Devasthanam Temple. Lete in the evening leave for Mahabalipuram.

Day 03 : Mahabalipuram

In Mahabalipuram visit the most famous rock sculptors, Arjuna’s Penance. Many gods, demigods, animals and people are carved on the sculpture. See the Panch Rathas. Spend the evening shopping for some handmade craft items.

Day 04 : Mahabalipuram – Chennai

Get back to Chennai and then take a flight back home.

Aurangabad-Nashik Tour: Mumbai, Nasik and Aurangabad


Day 01 : Mumbai – Nasik

Take a bus or a train from Mumbai to Nasik. This city has a great religious importance because of Muktidham temple, Ramakund and Pandav Leni Caves.

Day 02 : Nasik – Aurangabad

From Nasik take a bus to Aurangabad where you can visit the most famous Ellora and Ajanta caves. These rock cut caves are listed in the world heritage list. Later visit the Ghrishneshwar Temple.

Day 03 : Aurangabad

Get to Aurangabad from Nasik and take a tour of the rock cut caves. Explore the famous Bibi-Ka-Maqbara. In the evening, you can visit Bani Begum Garden.

Day 04 : Aurangabad

Time to go back home.
