Top 5 Weekend Destinations from Chandigarh

Chandigarh is the first ever planned city in India; this city stands true as the epitome of urbanisation. This city lies in the foothills of Shivaliks and hill ranges open, its doors to us through this vibrant city.

And now that a long weekend from 12th to 15th August is here, a getaway is compulsory.

Morni Hills:

This is the perfect destination to relish your weekends in the quietness of beauty. This town has a number of freshwater lakes which are absolutely perfect for your long weekend. If you wish to rekindle the sparkle with your beloved, a romantic picnic with your beloved by the lake is a great option.  Royal Huts Resort, Mountain Quail are great options.

 

NAHAN:

This city is a true amalgamation of culture, history and beauty. This town was the capital of erstwhile Simur Princely State. Nahan stands true to its heritage and is surrounded by splendid lakes and temples.  Renuka Wildlife Retreat and Renuka Lake are a must visit. With a wide range of tourists flocking to this destination, accommodation is not a problem. Simour Retreat and Hotel Summer Hill are good options to consider.

 

Tirthan Valley:

Tirthan Valley is one of the very few hill stations that stand to be untouched by human’s interference. This mystical land offers breathtaking views that one can’t get bored with. This is one hill station that we heard in all 1970’s Hindi drama movies and the reason is very clear: it is pristine.
