Last year in July corning had unveiled Gorilla glass 5, that was primarily made of a thin sheet of alkali-aluminosilicate, which is strengthened by ion – exchange process, specifically the glass placed under extremely high temperature and pressure, that can go up to 400-degree Celcius. The potassium ion-exchanged with sodium ion which is originally present in the glass. When the glass cools down the large potassium ion increase the compressive strength of the composition.
