Nokia X6 Launched Globally as Nokia 6.1 Plus: Specifications, Price

Nokia has renamed the Nokia X6 to Nokia 6.1 Plus when it was launched globally on July 20. Nokia 6.1 Plus is another Android One-powered smartphone by the company which will get regular security updates and OS upgrades for two years as per the Android One programme. The first lot of Nokia 6.1 Plus will be up for sale starting July 24 in Hong Kong, post which it will be available globally.

Nokia 6.1 Plus Specifications

Nokia 6.1 Plus flaunts 5.8-inch FHD+ IPS LCD notch-display with a resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9. The screen is protected by a 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Nokia 6.1 Plus is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC clocked at 1.8 GHz. Graphic rendering on the device is handled by Qualcomm’s Adreno 509 GPU. However, the device has just been launched in a 4GB RAM variant coupled with 64GB storage, further expandable upto 400GB via microSD. Nokia 6.1 Plus runs on Android One platform with Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box. The camera department is handled by dual rear camera sensors – 16MP of f/2.0 aperture and 5MP (f/2.4 aperture) depth-sensing sensors – with EIS video stabilization and shoots upto 1080p video at 30fps. Over at the front is small notch on the top with a 16MP f/2.0 sensor for clicking AI-capable selfies. Nokia 6.1 Plus packs a 3060 mAh Li-Ion battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support as it sports a USB Type-C port. Connectivity options on the smartphone include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0 and a 3.5-mm headphone jack. The fingerprint scanner could have been placed at front chin but has been placed at the rear, as the front chin has been occupied with Nokia branding.

The phone is made up of glass panels at the front as well as at the back with aluminium framings on the sides. The front camera also supports AI Facial Recognition for unlocking the device.

Nokia 6.1 Plus Price

The smartphone will be available in two color options – Blue and White. Nokia 6.1 Plus will go on sale in Hong Kong, from July 24, at HKD 2,288 which roughly translates to Rs 20,000 for 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant. The smartphone is expected to be made available in India by mid-August.
