Apple has proved itself to be one of the most valuable tech firms time and again. However, the Cupertino-based company fails to capture an Indian’s imagination often. According to a report on Bloomberg, Apple’s sales graph has apparently nose-dived since it managed to sell just under a million devices in the first half of 2018. The report added that quite a few number of its sales executives have even left the organization post a restructuring.

As per the previous year data, Apple sold 3.2 million iPhones with the market share of just 2% in India. While the company has started manufacturing iPhone 6s and iPhone SE in India, to cut down the cost of these smartphones. But it seems, the hiked prices of other line-ups messed up the expectations of Indian audiences, and has forced them to look towards the cheap alternative options like OnePlus, Xiaomi and Samsung. However, Tim Cook, the Apple CEO indicates that their revenue from India has grown despite of low sales. However, Apple’s operations are not in full capacity within the country, whenever they are looking forward to grab the attention of growing middle class audience, competitors like Xiaomi and Samsung always land a step ahead from them.

India is the third largest smartphone market in the world, and earlier this year Tim Cook stated that India could be a huge opportunity for Apple, and they are going to move aggressively into the country.
