Have you ever heard of F1 racing? Yeah, the one-seater Formula 1 racing. You might have been definitely a fan at least once, after all it’s so intriguing. We are not referring to the racing car, but its speed. There have been many renders and hints regarding Xiaomi’s new sub-brand Poco. No, don’t get nostalgic, it’s not the kids entertainment channel although it sounds similar. Xiaomi will soon be launching the Poco F1 on August 22, in India, under its new subsidiary brand Pocophone. The Poco F1 is touted to be a device that can function as fast as an F1 racing car in terms of speed. No, that doesn’t mean it would take you places in a few seconds, but it will definitely run faster than your existing smartphones.

Xiaomi has been a successful smartphone brand in India since its business debut in the country in 2014. Since then it rapidly gained the market share in India and now the company has become the biggest smartphone maker in India at the end of the second quarter of 2018. Xiaomi has outshadowed Samsung to gain the No. 1 spot with 29.7 percent market share in India. The smartphone manufacturer is one of the most popular brand in the country with most number of products sold. When it comes to quality and affordability, Xiaomi wins the show with its affordable powerbanks, smartphones, and even the smart TVs.

Now the Pocophone Poco F1 lies on the cards for Xiaomi to hold strong the top position in the Indian market. Connoted as Master of Speed and promoted with the #AsFastAsYou tag, the Poco F1 is a smartphone that comes with “top-notch” specifications and features. Yes, you guessed that right, the smartphone will be Xiaomi’s first smartphone in India to feature a notch-display. Also, Poco F1 will be the company’s first device to run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset with Adreno 630 as GPU. Now, that’s something to tout for, but the company has refrained from doing so. As per the speculations, the Poco F1 will be launched at an affordable price for the Indian consumers.

Poco F1 will sport a dual rear camera setup with a 12MP primary sensor and a 5MP secondary sensor. Over at the front, a 20MP selfie camera is expected to be placed. The smartphone is expected to be launched in two storage options, 64GB and 128GB, both might come coupled with 6GB of RAM. The Poco F1 is expected to be priced between Rs 30,000 to Rs 35,000 so that it competes with the established competitors like OnePlus 6, Oppo Find X, and the latest entry LG G7+ ThinQ. The Pocophone Poco F1 is also said to pack a liquid cooling system under the hood, thus, making it the first device from the company to feature the technology.

Going by Xiaomi’s trend of powering the flagships, this one is said to be juiced up by a 4,000mAh battery to deliver more backup than its counter-parts with whom it plans to compete.

Xiaomi’s product head Manu Jain is all set to unveil the Pocophone Poco F1 on August 22 at a launch event in New Delhi, and the smartphone will be a Flipkart exclusive as hinted by the poster. The smartphone is expected to be priced under Rs 35,000, going by its build which is a plastic shell casing and not an aluminium one. Well, that’s disappointing but what can you ask for at this price, you have to compromise somewhere.
