The most foreseen curtain raiser of the year simply occurred on September 12. Indeed, you may have speculated till now, after such huge numbers of leaks and bits of gossip about what could occur on the day. Your top choice ‘fruit’ has spilled a portion of the best ‘seeds’ into the market. Indeed, we are discussing the Gather Round occasion by Apple that occurred in California, where the globe saw the unveiling of not only one, but rather four unique products of the year. Apple has revealed another Watch Series 4, as well as three new iPhones too for the year 2018, in particular iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max.

Steve Jobs, along with Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne, established the Cupertino-based tech organization on April 1, 1976. Since the dispatch of iPhone 5 in the year 2012, Apple has been reliable with their new tech launches occurring in September consistently. A year ago, Apple propelled the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and a beautiful iPhone X on the 12th of September, as it were. This time around, the American tech goliath has, once again, uncovered three new iPhones, close by a new Apple Watch Series 4.

The Gather Round occasion was held at the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California, where the revealing of all the four items occurred. Apart from an affordable iPhone XR, two other expensive models of the iPhone – iPhone XS and a bigger iPhone XS Max. Both the expensive models look alike with a dual camera setup at the rear and a notched display at the front, except for their screen and body sizes. The iPhone XS flaunts a 5.8-inch OLED panel while the iPhone XS Max has a giant 6.5-inch OLED display, which Apple likes to call “Super Retina” HD display. The iPhone XS Max is the biggest smartphone from the company till date. Just like the iPhone XR, both iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max support dual SIM cards with dual standby, where a physical Nano SIM card and an eSIM can be used, that is placed inside the smartphone itself. However, the Chinese variant of the iPhone XS Max will get to support two physical SIMs, unlike rest of the world.

According to Apple’s CEO Tim Cook, iPhone is “world’s number 1 smartphone” with a bewildering customer satisfaction rate of 98 percent. And after this, why would one resist to say anything in the glory of the new iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max lineup? He went on to say that this lineup is the “the most advanced iPhone we have ever created.”

Running on iOS 12, both the expensive iPhones sport a display notch, very similar to the iPhone X, over at the front. The iPhone XS Max may seem bigger, but has the same dimensions as last year’s iPhone 8 Plus. Similar to the iPhone XR, both iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max pack Apple’s A12 Bionic chipset, based on the first ever 7nm process, under the hood. The new Apple A12 Bionic chip can launch an app faster by 30 percent, as compared to the previous A11 chip. The new chipset includes a hexa-core CPU and a quad-core GPU, accompanied with a next-gen Neural Engine, that helps the chip to deliver five trillion operations per second. Irrespective of revealing the battery capacity on any of the iPhones this year, Apple says that the A12 chipset provides iPhone XS 30 minutes more battery life than the iPhone X, while the iPhone XS Max gets 1 hour 30 minutes of battery life ahead of iPhone X. Putting all the rumours of an 18W USB Type-C to Lightning charger aside, Apple continues to power the iPhones with the Type-A to Lightning 5W charger. What’s surprising is that this time Apple won’t be including a 3.5mm-to-Lightning dongle inside the new iPhone boxes.

Both the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max are built with glass back panel and stainless steel framing, and offers and advance IP68 protection against dust and water, unlike iPhone XR’s IP67 rating.

Squaring up, both iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max come in 64GB, 256GB, and a 512GB storage options. At the rear, both the expensive iPhones sport dual 12-megapixel wide-angle and telephoto image sensors with f/1.8 aperture and f/2.4 aperture, respectively. The rear camera setup incorporates a quad-LED True Tone flash, combined with dual OIS, flicker-detect system, and Focus Pixels. Inside the display notch, sits a 7-megapixel RGB image sensor with f/2.2 aperture, an IR camera, and a dot projector for facial recognition even in the dark. Both the rear and front cameras feature an Advanced Bokeh Depth Control to provide a stunning Bokeh effect on iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. The front camera now supports Group FaceTime, so that you a talk to whole of your gang with Apple’s smart experience.

Both of these Apple iPhone models will go for pre-orders starting September 14, and will be shipping from September 21 for some of the countries. The shipping of these iPhones will begin from September 28 in India, in a host of colours including Space Grey, Silver and a new Gold colour option.
