Nokia has been trying really hard to gain back its position in the Indian smartphone market again with the introduction of Nokia Android smartphones. The HMD Global-backed company launched its latest budget-friendly Nokia 3.1 smartphone with Android One in India at Rs 10,499 on July 19. It is a successor to the Nokia 3 that was released last year. Nokia 3.1 sports a taller display than its predecessor with an aspect ratio of 18:9. Android One will provide Nokia 3.1 with regular security updates for three years and promised OS upgrades for two years, including Android P and Android Q.

Nokia 3.1 flaunts a 5.2-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels. Protected by Corning Gorilla Glass, the smartphone comes with an aspect ratio of 18:9. Nokia 3.1 comes powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6750N chipset clocked at 1.5GHz with 2GB of RAM and 16GB storage (expandable upto 128GB) for the Indian market, as of now. The smartphone houses an improved 13MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture at the rear and a 8MP camera sensor (f/2.0 aperture) with 84.6-degree field-of-view for selfies. Nokia 3.1 will run on Android One-based Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box and will feature Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, and 3.5mm headphone jack as connectivity options. Juicing up the device is a bigger 2990mAh Li-Ion battery than the 2630mAh battery that was available in the Nokia 3.

Nokia 3.1 is made up of anodized aluminium chassis with polycarbonate back panel, similar to Nokia 3, and diamond-cut aluminium sides. The device will be available in three color options such as Black/Chrome, Blue/Copper and White/Iron.
Idea and Vodafone are offering 1GB mobile data per day, unlimited calls and 100 SMS per day for 28 days at a recharge of Rs 149. Another plan of Rs 595 will offer unlimited calls, 100 SMS per day and 18GB mobile data for 6 months. Customers who upgrade from a 2G or 3G phone to Nokia 3.1 will avail 1GB data per day for 28 days.
Nokia 3.1 Availability and Price
Nokia 3.1 will be available for purchase at Rs 10,499 starting July 21 via major offline retailers and online via Paytm Mall and Nokia’s own website. Customers who buy using Paytm Mall QR code at retailers can avail a 10 percent cashback on recharges and bill payments through Paytm. They will be entitled to two movie cashback vouchers worth Rs 250 redeemable against booking of two movie tickets on Paytm. A cashback of 5 percent is also applicable if the purchase is made using ICICI credit or debit card.
