Huawei Mulls Foldable, Gaming Smartphones After P20 Pro – Release Date & Specification

Post featuring a triple camera setup on the P20 Pro, Huawei plans to launch high-end gaming and foldable smartphones. A report on Gadget Match quotes Jim Xu, president of Huawei’s consumer business stating that Huawei’s first gaming smartphone will be launched in the second half of 2018.

The report goes on to add that these devices will specifically use Huawei’s new graphics turbo technology showcased on the Honor 9i. The software will carry AI-boosted graphics to enhance GPU performance by up to 60% and consume 30% less battery than in a normal scenario.

A ‘Foldable’ Smartphone!

According to the Gadget Match report, Huawei plans to launch its first ever foldable-display smartphone in 2019, to compete with Samsung’s upcoming patents. Huawei and Samsung are the not only players in the segment, with Apple, LG, and Vivo in fray.

What’s the Reason for Launching a Gaming Smartphone?

Tech firms, such as Razor had already changed the definition of smartphone gaming, which was closely followed by Xiaomi’s Black Shark, Asus’ ROG, and Huawei’s Honor Play. These smartphones come with flagship grade hardware with gaming-optimised software.
