Looks like Xiaomi is going the Vivo way, or so it seems. The next in the Mix series from Xiaomi – Mi Mix 3, could come with an under screen display and a pop-up selfie camera! Much like the Vivo Nex 3 and that too as early as September 2018.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 Leaks and Renders
According to an ITHome.com report, Xiaomi had registered a pop-up camera patent back in 2015 for a front facing camera. The report also states that the Mi Mix 3 will have an ultra thin bezel-less design with a vertical camera setup at the back. The leak confirms the absence of a fingerprint sensor at the front as well as at the back of the Mi Mix 3.
This indicates that either the device will not feature any fingerprint sensor like the Apple iPhone X or the Mi Mix 3 could have an under-display fingerprint scanner like Vivo Nex 3.
Interestingly, as per various leaks and rumours, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 could be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SOC backed with an 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. In the camera segment, a 12MP+12 MP dual camera setup may feature at the back of the Mi Mix 3 with a pop-up 20MP front facing selfie shooter.
Pervious leaks on a Telegram group Xiaomi UI, stated that Mi Mix 3 may run on MiUI 10 with the latest version of Android.
