After several leaks and speculations the Honor 9i 2018 version, it is finally going to launch in India on July 24. The Huawei-owned company already revealed the device one month ago in China, which is an upgrade to the last year’s Honor 9i. However, the name of the device is officially not announced yet, but the smartphone could be launched in India with the tag of Honor 9i (2018) or as Honor 9X. Huawei is gradually rolling out the launch event invites, and they have projected the new device with ‘NOORDINARYBEAUTY’ hashtag. As the hashtag suggests, the device could mainly focus on design and the dual rear-camera functionalities.

Honor 9i runs on EMUI 8.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo. The OS will feature specifically AI related apps.

Honor 9i will be powered by HiSilicon Kirin 659 octa-core SoC clocked at 2.36GHz, and the graphics department will be handled by Mali T830-MP2 GPU. As the chipset is built on 16nm process, the power consumption and heating issue is almost negligible.

The Shenzhen based company promoted the device with #NoOrdianaryBeauty, which indicates the AI capabilities on both the rear and the front cameras. The Honor 9i is coupled with 13MP primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture and 16MP sensor optics at the front with an aperture of f/2.0.
