There’s good news for Redmi Note 5 Pro or camera beast owners in India. The handset will finally receive the much awaited Android Oreo Update with MIUI 9.5 starting June 29.
Announced by Xiaomi’s MiUI India Twitter handle, the update will be seeded over-the-air (OTA) and will be rolled out in phases. So just in case you don’t get in on the first day, be rest assured you will get the update very soon. Here’s what the company put up:
Xiaomi devices usually get feature updates along with MiUI upgrades. So, a lot cannot be expected from the Oreo update other than increased functionality, efficiency, and an updated security patch. Also Xiaomi recently announced the latest version of their home cooked Android skin – the MiUI 10. This version is still in a beta phase but it will be interesting to use it on the Redmi Note 5 Pro given the new gestures control, sounds, and beautification crafted by Xiaomi.
The exact build of the stable ROM is 9.6.6.9 OEIMIFA. The changelog is still not revealed by the company but will be revealed soon it seems. The update was in the offing for a long time and users can now hope to see a stable build without usual bugs that come along newer builds.
Redmi Note 5 Pro was launched in India in February along with Redmi Note 5, the successor to India’s best smartphone in 2017 – Redmi Note 4. Just like any other Redmi device, the Redmi Note 5 Pro too was well received by the audience given the specifications offered at an affordable price.
